Best Lip Balms in Pakistan 2026 for Dry, Chapped and Dark Lips (With Prices)

Pakistani winters crack lips fast, and sun and habit darken them. Here's which lip balm to buy for dry, chapped or dark lips, what each costs in Pakistan, and how to tell a real Laneige from a Rs 300 copy.

Every winter, Pakistan's dry air cracks lips within days, and the rest of the year the sun quietly darkens them. A good lip balm fixes the first problem and, if it has SPF, helps prevent the second. You don't need to spend much: some of the best options cost under Rs 700.

Here are the lip balms worth buying in Pakistan for dry, chapped lips (phate hont) and for dark lips, with prices and the ones to skip.

What makes a good lip balm?

Lips have a very thin outer layer and no oil glands, so they lose water quickly. A good lip balm does two things:

  • Seals in moisture. The best sealing ingredients are petroleum jelly (petrolatum), beeswax, shea butter, lanolin and plant oils. Petroleum jelly is the most effective and the least likely to irritate.
  • Protects from the sun, if you use it during the day. Look for SPF 30 or higher.

What to avoid, especially on cracked or sore lips:

  • Menthol, camphor, phenol and peppermint. The tingling feels like it's working, but these can irritate lips and make them drier with daily use.
  • Strong fragrance and flavour. Flavoured balms make you lick your lips, and fragrance is a common cause of lip irritation.
  • Unbranded "pink lips" balms that promise to lighten lips. They have no ingredient list you can trust.

Vaseline Lip Therapy: best value (about Rs 510–650)

The 20g tin is essentially petroleum jelly, which is exactly what dry winter lips need. It comes in Original, Rosy Lips, Cocoa Butter and Aloe Vera. Rosy adds a slight tint and fragrance; choose Original if your lips sting or peel. A tin lasts most of the winter. The smaller 7g jar costs about Rs 570, so the 20g tin is far better value.

Vaseline Blue Seal Petroleum Jelly: cheapest overnight treatment (Rs 280 for 50ml)

Plain Vaseline in the blue-lid jar does the same job as an expensive lip mask. Apply a thick layer before bed and your lips will be noticeably softer by morning. A 50ml jar costs about Rs 280 and lasts for months. It also works on cracked heels, knuckles and dry patches around the nose.

Nivea Lip Care Original: best stick for on the go (about Rs 625)

A classic stick with shea butter and jojoba oil that's easy to carry in a bag or pocket. It's lighter than Vaseline, so it's better for daytime than for badly cracked lips. Labello is Nivea's lip care brand in Europe; the flavoured Labello sticks (Strawberry, Blackberry, Watermelon, about Rs 570) feel nice but contain fragrance.

AccuFix Lip Protection Balm SPF 30+ PA++++: best for dark lips (about Rs 1,120–1,400)

A Pakistani brand's clear lip balm with SPF 30 and PA++++ UVA protection, plus coconut oil, castor oil and vitamins C and E. If your lips are getting darker, daily sun protection is the single most useful thing you can do, and this is one of the few SPF lip balms that's easy to buy locally. Reapply after eating and every two hours if you're outdoors.

Carmex Classic: good for occasional chapping (about Rs 950–1,600)

The yellow-lid jar is petrolatum and lanolin with camphor and menthol, which give the familiar cooling tingle. It works well for occasional chapping, but if you use it all day and your lips stay dry or burn, the camphor and menthol may be the problem. Switch to plain Vaseline. Blistex Lip Medex (about Rs 999) is similar.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: the splurge (about Rs 4,100–6,000)

A thick, berry-scented overnight lip mask that's hugely popular on social media. The texture is lovely, and it does soften lips well, but plain petroleum jelly gives similar results for a fraction of the price. If you buy it, buy from an established beauty retailer: the genuine 20g jar sells for about Rs 4,100–6,000 in Pakistan, so listings at Rs 300–1,300 are almost certainly fake.

Why are my lips dark?

Dark lips are common in South Asian skin, and some darkness is simply natural. But lips can get darker over time because of:

  • Sun exposure. The most common cause. Lips have very little natural protection.
  • Smoking, including shisha.
  • Licking or biting your lips, which keeps them dry and irritated. Irritation can leave dark patches behind.
  • Irritating lip products, such as fragranced balms, long-wear lipsticks or toothpaste ingredients.
  • Dehydration and constant dryness.

How to lighten dark lips safely

There's no overnight fix, but these steps help most people over two to three months:

  1. Use SPF lip balm every day, and reapply it. This stops lips getting darker and gives existing darkness a chance to fade.
  2. Keep lips moisturised with a plain balm by day and petroleum jelly at night.
  3. Stop licking your lips and stop smoking.
  4. Exfoliate gently, once a week at most. Rub lips with a soft, damp cloth after applying balm. Skip lemon, sugar-and-lemon scrubs and baking soda: they irritate lips and can make darkness worse.
  5. Switch products if a lipstick, balm or toothpaste makes your lips sting, itch or peel.

Avoid "pink lips" creams and bleaching products, especially unbranded ones. Lips are delicate, and harsh lightening ingredients can burn them. If your lips are very dark, patchy, or darkened suddenly, see a dermatologist. They can check for causes such as a reaction to a product, and offer safe treatments.

How to heal cracked lips fast

  1. Apply a plain balm or petroleum jelly several times a day, especially after eating and drinking.
  2. Put a thick layer of petroleum jelly on at night.
  3. Don't peel or bite the flakes. Let them come off on their own.
  4. Drink enough water and, if your room has a heater, keep a bowl of water near it to add some moisture to the air.
  5. Avoid tingling or flavoured balms until your lips heal.

Most cracked lips heal in a few days with this routine. See a doctor if cracks at the corners of your mouth don't heal in two weeks, if your lips bleed or swell, or if they stay cracked despite good care. These can be signs of an infection, an allergy or a vitamin deficiency.

Frequently asked questions

Which lip balm is best in Pakistan?

For dry and chapped lips, Vaseline Lip Therapy (about Rs 510–650) is the best value. For dark lips, an SPF 30 lip balm such as AccuFix Lip Protection Balm SPF 30+ (about Rs 1,120–1,400) used every day. For overnight repair, plain Vaseline petroleum jelly (Rs 280 for 50ml).

Which lip balm is best for dark lips?

A lip balm with SPF 30 or higher, reapplied through the day. Sun is the most common reason lips darken, so protecting them every day does more than any "pink lips" product. Stopping lip licking and smoking also helps.

Is Laneige available in Pakistan, and is it original?

Yes, from Pakistani beauty retailers at about Rs 4,100–6,000 for the 20g Lip Sleeping Mask. Listings at Rs 300–1,300 are almost certainly copies. Check the batch code and buy from a retailer with a clear return policy.

Is Vaseline good for lips?

Yes. Petroleum jelly is one of the most effective ingredients for dry, chapped lips because it forms a seal that stops water escaping. It's also unlikely to irritate. Apply a thick layer at night.

Why do my lips get dry even when I use lip balm?

Common reasons are licking your lips, lip balms with menthol, camphor or strong fragrance that irritate, cold dry air, and not drinking enough water. Switch to a plain, fragrance-free balm. If the corners of your mouth crack and don't heal, see a doctor.

Phate honton ke liye kya lagayen?

For cracked lips (phate hont), apply plain petroleum jelly or Vaseline Lip Therapy several times a day and a thick layer at night. Stop licking your lips, and avoid flavoured or tingling balms until they heal.
