Sunblock is the one skincare product dermatologists agree everyone in Pakistan should use. It prevents tanning, dark spots and melasma, keeps acne marks from darkening, and slows skin ageing. It's also the step most people skip, usually because the one they tried felt greasy or left a white cast.

The good news: you don't need an imported sunblock to be well protected. Pakistan's pharmacy brands make solid, affordable options.

What is the best sunblock in Pakistan?

Prices are the lowest prices we found at brand websites and Pakistani retailers on 3 November 2026 and change often. "Varies" means we couldn't confirm a current in-stock price. Very cheap listings of imported brands are often fakes, so buy from pharmacies, official stores or trusted retailers.

What is the best budget sunblock in Pakistan?

U-Veil Forte SPF 60 (about Rs 655 for 30g) and Jenpharm Spectra Block SPF 60 (Rs 998) are the best value. Both are dermatologist-favourite pharmacy brands with high SPF, and you'll find them in most pharmacies across the country.

Under Rs 500, Saeed Ghani's SPF 60 with Vitamin C (about Rs 430) is fine for arms, neck and body, where texture matters less. For the face, we'd spend a little more.

Be careful with no-name "SPF 60 whitening sunblocks" sold for Rs 150–250 on marketplaces and social media. They often have no full ingredient list and no tested SPF.

What is the best sunblock for oily skin in Pakistan?

Choose a gel or fluid labelled matte, oil-free or sebum control:

  • Jenpharm Spectra Matt Sebum Control Gel SPF 50 (Rs 1,998) is the best local matte option.
  • Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch (about Rs 5,495) is the best imported one.

Lahore brand Elluvi has also announced a Primer Gel Sunscreen SPF 40 PA+++, a clear matte gel made for oily skin in Pakistani heat. It hadn't launched when we checked on 3 November 2026, so it isn't in the table yet.

What is the best sunblock for dry skin?

Cream sunblocks suit dry skin best, especially in winter. U-Veil Forte, Neobrella SPF 60 and Jenpharm Spectra Block all have creamier textures. Apply moisturiser first and let it sink in for a few minutes before your sunblock.

How much sunblock should you apply?

Most people use a third to a half of what they need, which means they get far less protection than the SPF on the label.

  • Face and neck: two finger-lengths, or about a quarter teaspoon.
  • Reapply every two to three hours when you're outdoors, and after sweating or washing your face.
  • Apply it last in your morning routine, after moisturiser and before makeup.

Should you choose a higher SPF?

SPF 30 blocks about 97% of UVB rays and SPF 50 about 98%. The difference after that is small. What matters more is choosing broad-spectrum protection (or PA+++), using enough, and reapplying. A higher SPF is still useful because it gives you a buffer if you apply too little.

Sunblock for pigmentation and melasma

If you have dark spots or melasma, sunblock matters more than any cream. Choose broad-spectrum SPF 50 or higher with PA+++ or PA++++, reapply during the day, and consider a tinted sunblock: the iron oxides in tinted formulas also block visible light, which can darken melasma on brown skin. See our guide to removing pigmentation at home.

How we chose these sunblocks

We compared sunblocks widely sold in Pakistan by SPF and UVA rating, texture, skin type and current price at brand websites and Pakistani retailers. This guide is research-based; see our editorial policy.

Frequently asked questions

What is a medicated sunblock?

In Pakistan, "medicated" usually means a sunblock made by a pharmaceutical company and sold in pharmacies, such as Jenpharm Spectra, U-Veil, Neobrella and Solaris. They aren't medicines, but they're reliable, widely available and often recommended by dermatologists.

Which SPF is best for Pakistan?

SPF 30 to 50 is enough for daily use if you apply enough and reapply outdoors. SPF 60 or higher adds only a little extra protection, but it helps make up for applying too thinly, which most people do.

What does PA+++ mean?

PA measures protection against UVA rays, which cause tanning, dark spots and ageing. More plus signs mean more UVA protection. Look for PA+++ or PA++++, or "broad spectrum" on the label.

Do I need sunblock in winter?

Yes. UVA rays, which darken pigmentation, are strong all year in Pakistan, even on cloudy or smoggy days.

Sab se acha sunblock kaun sa hai?

For most skin types, a broad-spectrum SPF 50 to 60 with PA+++ is the best choice. Jenpharm Spectra Block Aqua Fluid is a great all-rounder, U-Veil Forte is the best budget option, and Spectra Matt suits oily skin.
