Best Acne Creams in Pakistan 2026: What Actually Works (With Prices)

There's no single acne "cure" cream, but the right active ingredient makes a real difference. Here's which acne cream to choose in Pakistan for your type of pimples, and what each one costs.

Acne cream is one of the most searched skincare products in Pakistan, and pharmacy shelves are full of creams promising to "cure" pimples (daane) in days. No cream does that. But a few cheap, proven ingredients do work if you choose the right one for your type of acne and use it for long enough.

What type of acne do you have?

Choosing the right cream starts here:

  • Blackheads and whiteheads: small dark or skin-coloured bumps, mostly on the nose, chin and forehead. These are clogged pores. Best ingredient: adapalene (or salicylic acid).
  • Red, inflamed pimples: red bumps and pus-filled spots, sometimes sore. Acne bacteria and inflammation are involved. Best ingredient: benzoyl peroxide.
  • Deep, painful lumps (cystic or nodular acne): large, sore lumps under the skin that last for weeks and often scar. No cream is enough on its own. See a dermatologist.
  • Dark marks left behind: flat brown spots after pimples heal. These aren't active acne. Best ingredients: azelaic acid, niacinamide and sunblock.

Most people have a mix, which is why many dermatologists combine two ingredients.

What is the best acne cream in Pakistan?

Prices are the lowest prices we found at Pakistani pharmacies and retailers on 2–4 November 2026 and change often. "Varies" means we couldn't confirm a current price. Some of these are medicines; ask a pharmacist or doctor if you're unsure, and buy imported brands only from trusted retailers.

Benzoyl peroxide gel: best for red pimples

Benzoyl peroxide kills the bacteria behind inflamed acne and helps unclog pores. It's sold in Pakistani pharmacies as Benoxyl 5% (from about Rs 250), PanOxyl 5% and other brands, usually for well under Rs 500. Start with 2.5% if you can find it, or apply 5% once a day only.

It can dry and peel your skin in the first few weeks, and it bleaches fabric, so use white towels and pillowcases.

Adapalene gel: best long-term treatment

Adapalene is a retinoid, related to vitamin A. It stops pores from clogging in the first place, so it treats blackheads and whiteheads and prevents new pimples. In Pakistan it's sold as Adapco 0.1% (about Rs 350), Adiff, Differin and other brands.

Use a pea-sized amount on your whole face at night, not just on spots. Expect some dryness and maybe a few extra breakouts in the first 2 to 4 weeks; that usually settles. Don't use it if you're pregnant. If retinoids are new to you, read our retinol for beginners guide first.

Clindamycin with benzoyl peroxide (Duac and similar)

Creams like Duac (about Rs 795) and Clinamid-P combine an antibiotic with benzoyl peroxide. They work well for moderate acne, but antibiotic creams shouldn't be used for months on their own because bacteria become resistant. Use them with a doctor's advice, and avoid clindamycin-only creams for long-term use.

Niacinamide: best budget add-on

Niacinamide doesn't treat acne as strongly as the creams above, but it reduces oil, calms redness and helps fade red and brown marks, and it's easy on the skin. Lahore brand Elluvi's Hydra Glow Serum (Rs 1,149) pairs 10% niacinamide with 1% zinc PCA for oil control, which makes it a sensible morning step alongside an acne gel at night. Compare more options in our niacinamide serum guide.

Azelaic acid: gentlest option, fades marks too

Azelaic acid calms acne and fades dark marks at the same time, and it suits sensitive skin. The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% costs about Rs 3,150. Read our full azelaic acid guide.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+: premium pick

A daily cream for mild breakouts and oily skin, with niacinamide and gentle exfoliating acids. At about Rs 8,800 it's far more expensive than a pharmacy gel and less powerful, so it makes most sense for mild acne or as a moisturiser for acne-prone skin.

How do you use an acne cream?

  1. Wash with a gentle face wash and pat your skin completely dry. See our face washes for acne-prone skin.
  2. Apply a thin layer to the whole area that breaks out, not just the pimples you can see. A pea-sized amount covers the face.
  3. Moisturise. A light, non-greasy moisturiser cuts dryness and peeling.
  4. Sunblock every morning. Adapalene and acids make skin more sun-sensitive, and the sun darkens acne marks. Our sunblock for oily skin guide has options that won't clog pores.
  5. Be patient. Give it 8 to 12 weeks before you judge it.

Start every 2nd or 3rd night with adapalene and build up. Don't layer several strong actives at once.

Which acne creams should you avoid?

  • Steroid "formula" creams. Mixed creams from beauty shops and creams containing steroids like clobetasol or betamethasone can cause steroid acne, thin skin and rebound breakouts. Never use a steroid cream on acne unless a doctor prescribes it for a specific reason.
  • Whitening creams sold for acne. Some contain mercury or hidden steroids. Read our guide to safe whitening creams.
  • Toothpaste, lemon and baking soda. They irritate the skin and can leave darker marks.
  • Tretinoin without guidance. It works, but it's strong and easy to overuse. Start with adapalene instead.

When should you see a dermatologist?

See a doctor if your acne is deep and painful, is leaving scars, hasn't improved after 3 months of a pharmacy cream, or appeared suddenly in adulthood alongside irregular periods or excess hair (a possible sign of PCOS). Prescription options such as oral medicines and isotretinoin can clear acne that creams can't.

Already have marks? See our guide to serums for acne marks, and if blackheads are your main problem, try a salicylic acid face wash.

Frequently asked questions

Which cream is best for acne in Pakistan?

For most people, a benzoyl peroxide 2.5–5% gel for red pimples or an adapalene 0.1% gel for blackheads, whiteheads and repeat breakouts. Both cost under Rs 400 in Pakistani pharmacies and have stronger evidence than most expensive "anti-acne" creams.

Can I get rid of acne in a week?

Not usually. A benzoyl peroxide gel can shrink individual red pimples in a few days, but clearing acne takes 8 to 12 weeks of daily use, because a new pimple starts forming weeks before you see it.

Can I use benzoyl peroxide and adapalene together?

Yes, they're often combined. Start slowly: benzoyl peroxide in the morning and adapalene at night, a few nights a week at first. If your skin gets very dry or red, cut back.

Can acne cream cause hair loss?

No. Acne creams used on the face don't cause hair loss. Benzoyl peroxide can bleach hair, pillowcases and towels, though, so keep it away from your hairline and eyebrows and use white towels.

Are acne creams safe in pregnancy?

Avoid adapalene and other retinoids in pregnancy. Azelaic acid is generally considered safe, and small amounts of benzoyl peroxide are often allowed. Always check with your doctor first.

Daanon ke liye konsi cream best hai?

For red, painful pimples (daane), a benzoyl peroxide 2.5–5% gel works best. For small bumps, blackheads and pimples that keep coming back, use an adapalene 0.1% gel at night. Use a gentle face wash, moisturiser and sunblock alongside.
